AUCTION - Timothy Leary - Holding Together - 1970 Broadside - Excellent

We are pleased to offer this rare, original 1970 broadside, an important artifact from the effort to raise funds for Timothy Leary’s legal defense. This double-sided, 14.75" x 8.75" offset print on orange paper details Leary's ongoing legal battles and the significant fees incurred following his March 16, 1970, prosecution in California, during which he was held without bail. The verso features a striking photograph attributed to R. Braverman.

This piece captures a tense moment in counterculture history, occurring just months before Leary’s dramatic escape from prison with the aid of the Brotherhood of Eternal Love and the Weathermen Underground, which led to his eventual exile in Algeria. Despite the handling, creases, a small tear in the top margin and soft bottom corner bends, this is an Excellent copy of a significant and highly collectible piece of political ephemera.
