AUCTION - Ten Years After - 1968 Poster - The Bank - Very Good
AUCTION - Ten Years After - 1968 Poster - The Bank - Very Good
Offered for auction here is an original concert poster from a very short-lived club in Torrance, CA in the greater Los Angeles area. The club was called the Bank and here we have Ten Years After and the Collectors playing November 8–9, 1968. Bob Wilson did all the Bank posters we have seen, several of which are in the Art of Rock book. Wilson did not sign his work directly. Rather, he inserted a profile of a buffalo in each of his posters. Cool and intriguing. This piece features Wilson's great crosshatch style on a very cool motorcycle with the rider. The Bank came under police scrutiny and eventually succumbed to the harassment, but left a remarkable body of work behind. This original concert poster measures 14 1/2" by 20 inches. The piece is in Very Good condition, with staple holes throughout, missing paper from having been taken down, handling, small stains on the reverse, edge wear, a couple of small edge tears, and light water damage at the bottom right quadrant.
