AUCTION - Psychedelic - Santa Rosa - 1971 Concert Handbill - Excellent
This is a very rare handbill from Santa Rosa, California. Here we have the Santa Rosa Jaycees presenting the 1971 Luther Burbank Rose Festival Rock Concert. Held on May 14, 1971, on the top floor of the downtown parking lot! A very unusual venue, indeed. The artwork is by Hank Garvey. Luther Burbank, for those who do not already know, was a world-renowned botanist and horticulturalists from Santa Rosa, and one of its most famous sons. So much so, that the Rose Festival was named in his honor. Headliners were Euphonious Wail, with Abraxas Rising opening. The show was put on by SR Jaycees and 54 Miles North Productions. The handbill measures 4 7/8“ X 7 7/8”. The piece is in Excellent condition, with a horizontal fold through the words “Friday Night“ and some handling.
