AUCTION - Poster Expo '92 - Gary Grimshaw Signed - 1992 Poster - San Francisco - Near Mint Minus
Offered for auction is an original, limited edition (70/300) poster for the very first Poster Expo in San Francisco, California. The event was held on November 7 and 8, 1992. The venue was the Hall of Flowers in Golden Gate Park, where there are poster shows still held to this day. The two-day event featured loads of poster artists and poster vendors. The bonus feature was the evening Reception and Concert, with Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, with Jackie Lomax, and the unforgettable Smoot Mahuti opening the show. The striking, vivid, and visually engaging artwork is by Detroit artist, Gary Grimshaw, who has hand-signed the piece at the bottom right in pen. This is number 70 out of an edition of 300, which is also written in pen at the bottom right. This original Expo poster measures 13 7/8" x 21 15/16". It is in Near Mint Minus condition, with only handling at the upper right and lower left corners. The colors are still so very bright and vibrant.
