AUCTION - Family Dog - Janis Big Brother - Artist Signed - Avalon Ballroom - 1967 Silkscreen Poster - Very Good

Offered here is a rare and unusual poster for a benefit concert held at the Avalon Ballroom. The Family Dog and Chet Helms were in charge and it held on the night before FD-98. The bands are Quicksilver Messenger Service and Big Brother & the Holding Co. featuring Janis Joplin. Across the top, it says "Trip the Light Fantastic". Rare compared to thousands of each for the Family Dog and Bill Graham at the same time. This is a hand-silkscreened poster with artwork by Peter Linenthal. As a bonus, this poster is hand-signed by the artist at the right center in black pen. It is signed to "Dorene". This is the first example of this poster that is signed by the artist that we have ever come across in more than 30 years. The poster measures approximately 13" x 20". The condition is very good, with small staple holes in the corners, a corner tip missing in the bottom right, and handling . Quite possibly unique.
