AUCTION - Eric Burdon and the Animals - 1967 Handbill and Program - Excellent
This amazing lot, consisting of a concert handbill and a tour program, is for a 1967 tour of America by Eric Burdon and the Animals. The handbill is for a show held at Drew University, in Madison, New Jersey. The show date was March 3, 1967, with the Lords and the Sorts opening up the show. The program is a classic 60s tour program. We got oodles of cool photos, critical raves, and always fun personal biographies. Great stuff. This particular tour was a big deal for Eric and the band. They went on to play the Fillmore for the first time and also played at The Monterey Pop Festival on this tour. Quite an eventful year! The handbill measures 6" x 9 1/2", approximately, while the program measures 9" x 12". Both pieces are in Excellent condition. The handbill still has tape in all four corners and has been folded in thirds horizontally, Otherwise, it's super clean. The program, twenty pages cover to cover, has only light handling. The handbill appears to have been taken down, folded, and saved for posterity. A good thing, as it may be the only one left! A wonderful lot from an auspicious year for Eric Burdon and the Animals.
