AUCTION - Big Brother Janis Joplin - 1967 2nd Print Poster - The Ark - Excellent

This Portal Publications 1967 2nd print poster for the legendary venue, the Ark in Sausalito, CA,  just across the Golden Gate Bridge. Bohemian, bucolic Sausalito was home to a repurposed paddleboat, now a nightclub called the Ark. This poster has Moby Grape and Big Brother and the Holding Company, with Janis Joplin. Super groovy late 60's design is sadly uncredited. The purple and orange work so well and the imagery is spot on. This poster has a Portal Publications printing credit (Portal came in shortly after these shows and reprinted many of The Ark posters, all of which carry their copyright credit...as public domain was still prevalent, and there is no artist credit on this image

This gorgeous piece measures approximately 16" x 22". In Excellent condition, with small tape residue in the corner tips on the reverse and associated handling from having been put up. The word "Love" is printed on the upper right reverse (which has been seen on other Ark posters as well). A really pretty North Bay poster.
