AUCTION - BG-222 - Benefit for Grateful Dead - 1970 Poster - Winterland - Excellent

This is an original concert poster from February 23, 1970, at Winterland in San Francisco, CA. This is a benefit concert for the Grateful Dead after they were arrested in New Orleans just like the lyrics of the song "Busted down in New Orleans, set up like a bowling pin…". Their friends in San Francisco had this concert to raise funds for legal defense. The bands were Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Santana, It's a Beautiful Day, and Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks. The art is by Randy Tuten, who perfectly designed this poster to look like a great Grateful Dead poster. Known as BG-222 in the Fillmore Poster Series. The poster measures approx. 13 15/16 X 21". The condition is Excellent. It has had restoration to repair pinholes in the corners and damage to the upper right corner.
