AUCTION - AOR 4.147 - Rolling Stones ZZ Top - David Singer Signed - 1973 Poster - Excellent
What a cool poster we have on offer here! This piece is for a co-production between Bill Graham and Barry Fey. They teamed up to put on the Rolling Stones in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Stones played two nights, January 21–22, 1973 at the Honolulu International Center. The magnificent and spectacular artwork is by the powerhouse tandem of Wilfred Satty and David Singer. The collage work is nothing short of a masterpiece and David Singer can always be relied on to come up with an eye-catching type style. Up-and-coming superstars, ZZ Top, opened the show. As an added bonus, David Singer has hand-signed the poster in a silver pen at the bottom right. This highly engrossing poster measures 20 1/4" by 28 1/2 inches, approximately. This piece is in Excellent condition, with a little bit of handling, along with a little bit of water damage in the upper right corner. This is due to the fact that the piece comes from the Bill Graham Presents archives and survived an arson fire in their offices. Out of all the posters that we know that survived the fire, this is one of the finest we have seen. The water damage can be mostly matted out in a frame. Superb-looking poster. Featured in the Art of Rock book on page 374, Plate 4.147.
