AUCTION - Allen Ginsberg Poetry Benefit - 1966 Poster - Longshoremen's Hall - Excellent

Here's a wonderful poster up for auction that represents the intersection of Poetry and the Labor Movement in the 1960s. Here we have a benefit poetry reading by a virtual Beat Poet Pantheon: Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Robert Creely, Robert Duncan, and Philip Whalen all together at Longshoremen's Hall in San Francisco on February 18, 1966. They all donated their time and talent to benefit the United Farm Workers. The United Farm Workers eagle logo is prominently featured in this piece, with the poets' names printed over it to great effect. The poster is, of course, union made, and the tiny tiniest of "union bugs" can be found at the bottom right. This quite scarce, cross-collectible benefit poster measures 14" x 20 1/4", approximately. The poster is in Excellent condition, with a little toning, handling, and edge wear. A tremendous example.
