AUCTION - Spirit - 1967 Concert Poster - Pasadena Civic - Excellent

This is an original concert poster from Pasadena, CA. Promoted by Scenic Sounds Productions, the show was held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium Exhibit Hall. The show date was November 22nd,1967, and featured Hamilton Streetcar as the headliners. Next on the bill was a Southern California local favorite, Spirit, who were well on their way to the big time by this time. The artwork is by Jim Ford and Steve Murphy. Done in a monochrome red on a white background, this poster is a real psychedelic treat, with a trippy border and all kinds of goodies for attendees. Free See’s Candy, free albums, and posters for early arrivals. A sound system by Fender, a local company, and an admonition of “Come as you are now”. Really a lot of cool things going on for a two-dollar admission fee! The poster measures 11 1/4” X 14 7/16”. The piece is in Excellent condition, with a single small pinhole in each corner, edge wear, and a bit of handling. The word “Spirit” has been hand-colored in green pen.
