AUCTION - Rick Griffin - Original ZAP Comix Art - Framed Drawing - Near Mint

Offered for auction is a rare, original black pen illustration by Rick Griffin, serving as a preliminary study for the inside front cover of Zap Comix #12 (1989). This piece depicts "Arthur," the central character, in a pose nearly identical to the final published artwork. Notably, the character is depicted holding an ink pen, cleverly styled to resemble a gun. This work was acquired directly from Ida Griffin, executor of the Rick Griffin Estate.

The artwork measures 7 5/8" x 10" and is presented in a 13 1/2" x 15 3/4" frame. It remains in near-mint condition, representing an exceptional opportunity to own an authentic piece of Rick Griffin’s illustrative legacy.
