AUCTION - QuicksIlver Messenger - Mary Kay Brown Signed - San Francisco - 1968 Benefit Poster - Near Mint Minus
What a fantastic poster this is! It promotes a benefit show to support the Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Cooperative Nursery School. Titled "Everybody Loves a Chicken," the event features the incredible talents of Quicksilver Messenger Service and Country Joe and the Fish as the headline acts. Additionally, Larry Hankin, a co-founder of the Committee, will serve as the MC. And let’s not forget about the chicken, the freak films, and the light show! It truly sounds like quite a shindig for a nursery school.
The striking, washed-out design, which includes a splendid chicken, was created by Mary Kay Brown, who has hand-signed the piece. The poster measures 13 7/8 inches by 19 3/4 inches and is in Near Mint Minus condition, with only light handling bend in the lower right and light edge wear." It’s also worth mentioning that Serpent Power performed at the event. Vinyl collectors will know just how rare their album is.
