AUCTION - Psychedelic - The Helix Seattle Number 17 - 1967 Underground Newspaper - Near Mint Minus

Here is a beautiful copy of the Seattle underground newspaper, the Helix, from December 1967. Splendid full-color cover art with a beautiful butterfly girl. Great stuff. The back cover, which is full color as well,  features a full-page ad for Country Joe and the Fish and their song "I Feel Like I'm Fixin' To Die Rag", which is written in a circle at the center, surrounded by psychedelic nudes and more. The artwork is by Tom Weller, who has work in the Art of Rock book. Too cool. Inside we find great ads, drawings, classifieds, and articles. In particular, the centerfold features an in-depth look at the Kennedy assassination. Still fresh in 1967, I'm sure. This is Issue Number 17 of the Helix and it measures 11" x 17 1/2". The newspaper is in Near Mint Minus condition, with just a little toning on the edges. Beautiful.
