AUCTION - Psychedelic - Mojo Men 1967 Golden Star Poster - Santa Rosa - Near Mint

AUCTION - Psychedelic - Mojo Men 1967 Golden Star Poster - Santa Rosa - Near Mint

Offered for auction is a rather unusual concert poster from Golden star promotions, an outfit from the North San Francisco Bay Area. Golden star put out quite a few posters, and this one is for a concert headlined by the Mojo Men, who had a smash hit with a song by Steve Stills before he cut it with Buffalo Springfield. Namely "Sit Down I Think I Love You". The opening act was Pullice. Interesting spelling. The show date was January 14, 1967. This just happens to be the same day as the Gathering of the Tribes for the Human Be-In at Golden Gate Park. The cool thing at the bottom says "Dress Casual". The artwork is by Richard Vaughn, from whose collection this poster comes. Great background squiggles and cool band photo. These Golden Star posters had more limited print runs than the big city posters did and, like this one, were typically printed on cardboard stock. This poster measures 13 1/2" X  22", approximately.  Condition is near mint. Never put up. Only a couple of edge dings and a light color bend, along with some edge wear, due primarily to being of cardboard stock.
