AUCTION - Jefferson Airplane - 1967 Poster - Contra Costa College - Excellent

Up for auction here is an extremely scarce original concert poster from Contra Costa College in the Eastern part of the San Francisco Bay Area. The college played host to Jefferson Airplane, with the Overbrook Express, opening up the show, which was held May 5, circa 1967. The poster design is by Haws and is a worthy, gorgeous tribute to Alphonse Mucha and Art Nouveau. Printed on stiff paper, the piece measures 11" x 17". A striking and very rare poster, not the least reason for which is that these one-off, locally produced posters generally had a dramatically smaller print run than, say, the Fillmore, or the Avalon Ballroom. This is one of those pieces that comes along every couple of decades if you're lucky. In Excellent condition, with three tack holes, likely from the first and only time the poster was ever put up. We can't remember seeing one come through the door before.
