Janis Joplin, James Cotton Blues Band 1969 Wichita Concert Poster. Printed on orange paper with metallic blue-grey inks, this terrific-looking poster from Wichita, KS advertises a concert by Janis Joplin with her not-yet-named Kozmic Blues Band.  The poster announces. "Friday, October 24," in the year of 1969, her only full year of touring solo. A Johnny Dark Production, with poster art by R. McIntosh and B.G. Vesper.

Janis is depicted in no less than four photographs on the poster, even substituting for the "i" in her first name at the top. And then how can you beat that dreamy gaze into the camera in the poster's biggest photo? Maybe with that amazing shot of her singing at the microphone? Or are they all topped by the famous picture of her with that mischievous smile from the Cheap Thrills album sleeve?

Measures 17 1/2'' x 22 1/2" and is on very thin orange paper with horizontal folds (lays flat), small bits of paper missing, small stains, and handling.
