AUCTION - Flamin' Groovies - 1967 Silk Screened Poster - Warehouse Marin - Excellent
AUCTION - Flamin' Groovies - 1967 Silk Screened Poster - Warehouse Marin - Excellent
Here we have on offer a rare North San Francisco Bay poster from San Rafael, CA. The short-lived venue was called the Warehouse. Ric Presents was the promoter and they presented Morning Glory, Time, and the Flamin' Groovies on the weekend of September 22–23, 1967. The nautical artwork is by Mike York. He did a great psychedelic ship theme, complete with a female, figurehead, and a Moby Dick reference, for good measure. Not to mention the band names in Day-Glo pink as the sails. Printed on cardboard stock, this Warehouse San Rafael concert poster measures 13 15/16" x 22". The piece is in Excellent condition, with toning, surface wear, staple holes in each corner, and light staining. These posters were made in very much smaller print runs than their Fillmore or Avalon counterparts of the time. Very likely less than 100 were made. Virtually all were put up.
