AUCTION - Byrds Beach Boys Airplane - 1966 Cardboard Poster - Cow Palace - Excellent

This concert poster up for auction is a radio station KFRC Summer Spectacular from 1966. Starring the Beach Boys and a veritable horde of openers: The Lovin' Spoonful, Percy Sedge, Sir Douglas, The Byrds, and San Francisco's own Jefferson Airplane. This extravaganza took place at the Cow Palace on June 25, 1966. Jefferson Airplane still had Signe Anderson as their singer, so this was a pretty big deal for them to play a huge place like the venerable Cow Palace this early in their careers. The piece has blended a classic broadside-type feel with an up-to-the-minute psychedelic vibe with the bright pink Day-Glo background. Printed on cardboard stock, the piece measures 12 7/8" x 22". In Excellent condition, with staple holes throughout and corner bends in all four corners. This piece was undoubtedly, put up and put up very securely at that. Great care was taken to extricate it from whatever pole or wall It was attached to. The poster presents quite well. The Day-Glo pink is remarkably well preserved. A great KFRC Summer Spectacular poster.
