AUCTION - Black Panther Party - Huey Newton - Political Poster - Very Good

Here it is—one of the all-time classic original posters for the revolutionary political group, the Black Panthers. The poster features Huey Newton, the Minister of Defense, posing in a large wicker chair with a spear in one hand and a rifle in the other. Several traditional African items are also depicted. At the bottom center, you'll find the Black Panther logo, with the address in the bottom right corner and a powerful quote from Huey Newton in the bottom left corner. This piece is very rare and highly sought after, representing sixties counterculture. It measures 23" x 34 7/8".

Condition: Very Good. The poster has been stored rolled up and is still in that rolled state. There are pinholes in each corner and a couple of minor stains about 9 inches down from the upper right corner. Additionally, there is a one-inch long tear at the top center.
