AUCTION - BG-31 - Jefferson Airplane - Grace Slick's 1st Gig - Wes Wilson Signed - Fillmore Auditorium - 1966 Poster - Very Good
AUCTION - BG-31 - Jefferson Airplane - Grace Slick's 1st Gig - Wes Wilson Signed - Fillmore Auditorium - 1966 Poster - Very Good
This is an original first print of BG-31 from the Fillmore Poster Series. It features Jefferson Airplane, which marked Grace Slick's first performance with the band, along with the Butterfield Blues Band and blues legend Big Mama Mae Thornton. The concert dates were October 14-16, 1966. The poster, created by artist Wes Wilson, has been personally hand-signed in pencil in the bottom right corner.
Notably, the original singer Signe Anderson performed on the first two nights but left, allowing Grace Slick to begin her career with the Airplane on Sunday, October 16th. The poster measures 13 1/2" x 23 1/2".
Condition: Very Good. It has staple holes in all four corners and some tears and bends along the top from left to right. Despite these imperfections, it remains a great example.
