AUCTION - BG-257/258 - Black Sabbath James Gang - Norman Orr Signed - Fillmore West - 1970 Concert Poster - Excellent

This original first-and-only printing concert poster promotes Bill Graham's BG-257/258 concerts at the Fillmore West in San Francisco. It has been attractively signed by its creator, Norman Orr. The double-sized poster features a Native American theme, which was popular among hippie culture at the time. It is designed symmetrically, with each half representing a long weekend.

The left side of the poster includes notable acts: Love with Arthur Lee, the James Gang featuring Joe Walsh, and Black Sabbath featuring Ozzy Osbourne. These performances took place from Thursday to Sunday, November 19-22, 1970. 

Arthur Lee and Love, based in Los Angeles, were familiar figures on the San Francisco concert scene, having performed there for years. The James Gang, with future Eagles member Joe Walsh, was on the bill and let's not forget Black Sabbath who were just coming into their own.

On the other half of the poster, rock 'n' roll revival band Sha-Na-Na was headlining after a significant boost from their appearance in the **Woodstock** movie earlier in the spring. Also on the bill were blues-rock guitarist Elvin Bishop, and Oakland's Tower of Power.

The poster measures 28 1/8" x 21 1/4" and is in excellent condition with some handling bends and light edge wear.
