AUCTION - AOR 2.349 - Joint Show - Wes Wilson - 1967 Foil Poster - Excellent

Let's talk about a classic. Up for auction is a rare foil variant of Wes Wilson's Joint Show poster. The Joint Show took place at San Francisco's Moore gallery on July 17th, 1967 and showcased the works of San Francisco's top poster artists: Wes Wilson, Victor Moscoso, Stanley Mouse, Alton Kelley, and Rick Griffin. Each artist created their own poster for the event, with Wes Wilson's contribution being significantly larger than the others, showcasing his classic style. Additionally, Wilson's poster features Country Joe and the Fish as performers, distinguishing it from the others. This specific variant of the poster is printed on foil, making it very scarce, especially in great condition. Measuring 25 1/2" x 37 1/2", this foil variant is larger compared to the other Joint Show pieces. Despite being in excellent condition, it has a corner bend in the upper left, some edge wear, and an abrasion on the bottom edge, as foil is notoriously difficult to keep in perfect shape due to its size. This poster has never been put up and is extremely hard to find without some kind of damage, presenting a rare opportunity to own an even rarer poster.
