This wonderful handbill from the Continental Auditorium in Santa Clara, CA. is for a show featuring the Mojo-Men as headliners, with Harper's Bizarre and local faves the Chocolate Watch Band opening up. The show date was February 18th, 1967. Art is by South Bay heavyweight Cannon. Gorgeous split fountain lettering over a black background. Whimsical, richly detailed lettering is fantastic. The Mojo-Men were riding high at the time on a cover version of Stephen Stills' "Sit down I think I love You" and Canon has integrated the song title into the piece. The Chocolate Watch Band also had a single out, "Sweet Young Thing" and it's featured twice at the bottom! This handbill is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 233, plate 2.346. This really nice handbill measures 5 3/4" x 8 1/2", approximately. The piece is in Excellent condition, with multiple pin and staple holes, mainly in the white border, and some edgewear. Otherwise a very beautiful, very scarce original handbill, folks.
