AUCTION - AOR 2.293 - Yardbirds - Jimmy Page/Jeff Beck - 1966 Handbill - Carousel Ballroom - Excellent

This is a classic, early original concert handbill featuring the Yardbirds. They performed at the Carousel Ballroom (pre-Fillmore West) on August 25, 1966. The handbill includes a picture of the great Jeff Beck, although he did not perform that night. Instead, Jimmy Page filled in, reportedly doing a fantastic job. The following night, the band played in San Leandro, CA, at the Rollarena. This handbill is also featured in the book "The Art of Rock" on page 219, plate 2.293. It measures 8 5/8" x 11". The condition is excellent, though it does have pinholes in all corners, as well as at the top and bottom center. This is a great example of a scarce, early original piece.
