AUCTION - AOR 2.29 - Moby Grape - Greg Irons - 1969 Poster - Avalon Ballroom - Very Good
This comical Irons poster was created for a Moby Grape concert at the Avalon Ballroom on March 7, 1969. Sound Proof Productions, a short-lived promotion group, took over staging shows at the Avalon in 1969 after the Family Dog moved out. Artist Greg Irons had a long list of popular poster designs from the late sixties era as well as his noted credit for animation work on the Beatles cartoon movie Yellow Submarine. One of the very few concert posters printed by The Rip Off Press, a very early Underground Comix publisher located in the Bay Area, where the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers and other infamous & notorious UG Comix were spawned for distribution.
It's in very good condition with multiple vertical bends, a corner bend in the lower left and top edge handling and bends. It measures 14" x 17".
