AUCTION - AOR 2.113 - Great Society Grace Slick - 1966 Handbill - Matrix - Very Good

Offered here is one of the most clever and unique designs from the 1960s. Artist William Reid has captured the idea perfectly. The band is the Great Society featuring a young Grace Slick, and the band name is across the top above the illustration of a red and blue striped pill with the drug spilling out shaped like stars. This is pretty bold and outrageous for the time. The club is the Matrix and the date is June 21, 1966. Pictured in the Art of Rock book on page 164 plate 2.113. Measures 9 1/2" X 11 1/2". Condition-Very Good. Has a single fold across the middle, staple pulls in each corner. Small stain on the reverse. One size only. Very Hard to Find.
