Art of Rock - ORIGINAL COVER ART - Wes Wilson SIGNED - 1987 Ink on Poster Board - Near Mint Minus

The original artwork is for the coffee table book "The Art of Rock," which focuses on psychedelic concert posters. Wes Wilson, one of the early and most popular artists starting in 1966, worked for both Bill Graham Fillmore Auditorium and Chet Helms' Family Dog Avalon Ballroom concerts. Wilson created numerous classic, beautiful, psychedelic designs that have stood the test of time.
When the writers of The Art of Rock were considering the front cover art, they immediately thought of Wes Wilson. Needless to say, he delivered a fantastic portrait that exemplifies his bold, psychedelic posters of the sixties. This offering includes the original pen and ink finished art in black and white, as well as Wilson's original rendering of the image in color with printing process instructions for the color placement and a finished cover. The art has been signed by Wes Wilson and been professionally framed  measuring 28 1/4" x 53 1/4". The finished black and white, pen and ink art measures 12 3/4" x 17". The full-color mock-up with printing notes and instructions measures 16 5/8" x 19 1/2". The actual finished printed cover measures 10 5/8" x 13 1/4". This is a truly unique piece of poster collecting history.
