Offered is the original, first printing of the poster created to promote a series of concerts, presented by Bill Graham at the Fillmore Auditorium and Winterland in San Francisco, from September 23- October 2, 1966. These seminal shows featured performances by Jefferson Airplane, Butterfield Blues Band and Muddy Waters...what a line-up! This iconic poster, commonly known as "The Sound", was designed by Wes Wilson and is designated BG-29-OP-3 in the Eric King Guide. It is arguably one of Wes' most recognizable and desirable posters from the era. The offered example measures approx. 14" x 24 1/2" and is in excellent condition with light edge wear and light stress lines from being rolled.
