AUCTION - FD-2 - King Kong Memorial - 1966 Poster - Fillmore Auditorium - Very Good

AUCTION - FD-2 - King Kong Memorial - 1966 Poster - Fillmore Auditorium - Very Good

S.F. Rock Posters is thrilled to be offering this original poster. This is FD2, the King Kong Memorial Dance. This incredibly rare poster is dated February 26, 1966. This concert was held at the Fillmore Auditorium and featured The Great Society (with Grace Slick). The Grass Roots, Big Brother and the Holding Company, and Quicksilver Messenger Service. This is a Family Dog poster. For reasons not fully known, this is one of the rarest of all the posters in the San Francisco scene. You see the reprint all the time, but never an original first print such as this one. It is said that only 250-500 originals were printed. This might be your only chance to ever own one. This poster measures approximately 14" X 20". In Very Good condition, with pinholes, handling, edge wear, and a small piece missing on the bottom edge.
