AUCTION - Chambers Bros. Creedence - 1968 Poster - Stanford - Excellent

Here we have an offer for a lovely poster from the South San Francisco Bay Area. Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA., to be exact. Featuring a show billed as "the Stanford Summer Rock Concert", the show took place at the sumptuously tree-lined Frost Amphitheater on campus. The show date was July 28 19th, 1968. The Chambers Brothers headlined, with Quicksilver Messenger Service, Sons of Champlin, and Creedence Clearwater Revival opening up at 2 PM. This is early Creedence, about the same time as their first single came out, with superstardom to follow. The artwork is by Mark Murakami, with printing by the august Tea Lautrec Litho, San Francisco. A gorgeous bird is done in a blue cross-hatch with a flower in its mouth over a deep green background. This unusual and elegant poster measures 14" x 21 1/4". The poster is in Excellent condition, with pinholes in each corner and at the top and bottom center, edge wear, handling, and a very small surface abrasion near the mid-bottom right, as well as the pinhole at the bottom right has a tear from the hole to the edge. A lovely South Bay piece.
