AUCTION - AOR 3.66 - Jefferson Airplane - Artist Signed - 1968 Handbill - Shrine Exposition - Near Mint

This is a scarce handbill for a show in Los Angeles in 1968. The Jefferson Airplane and Charlie Musselwhite performed at the Venerable Shrine Exposition Hall. The show dates were February 23, and 24, 1968. Artist Jan van Hamersveld, a titan in the LA poster world and a true legend, did the sepia-toned artwork. He has hand-signed this handbill in black pen at the mid-bottom center. Just beneath the picture of the indigenous man. Strong, elegant, and proportionally spaced to fit the piece, the signature is well placed, to say the least. This image "(poster) is pictured in the Art of Rock book on page 275, plate 3.66. The handbill measures 8 1/2" x 5 3/4", approximately. This handbill is in Near Mint condition.
