AUCTION - Hells Angels - Motorcycle Raffle - 1968 Handbill & Ticket - Excellent

Here's a highly unusual lot of two pieces of Hell's Angel's ephemera. The lot consists of a small handbill, announcing a raffle, along with an actual raffle ticket. Quite the pair. The handbill announces the raffle of Dirty Dick's, Harley Davidson Motorcycle. One dollar in 1968 got you a chance at a 1959 Harley. Great uncredited artwork with gorgeous red lettering and wonderful filigree work. but this handbill has more to offer. Raffle tickets were available at the Pall Mall Grill on Upper Haight Street in San Francisco. The Grill was an institution in the Haight long before the hippies and long after. A real San Francisco icon establishment. Moreover, raffle tickets were also listed as being available "Elsewhere On The Street", or simply "Ask Any Angel". Priceless stuff. The second half of the lot is the raffle ticket. itself. Union printed, with a bug., It has roughly the same information as the handbill but is condensed. The handbill measures 5 7/16" x 8 1/2". The raffle ticket measures 2 1/2" x 3 7/8", approximately. The condition of the handbill is Excellent with toning, a tape stain on the reverse that shows through, pin holes across the top and bottom, and a horizontal fold across the middle, which now lays flat. The condition of the raffle ticket is also Excellent, with a single tack hole, a diagonal bend, some handling throughout, and a tape stain on the reverse. We have seen one handbill before and have never seen an actual ticket and are pleased to offer both for auction in this unusual and very cool lot.
