This is an original concert handbill from the Family Dog series featuring the 13th Floor Elevators from Texas, along with the local band Quicksilver Messenger Service. The event took place on September 30 and October 1, 1966, at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco. Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley created the design. This particular handbill has been mailed and is the first in the mailing series, making it an absolute classic, also known as FD28. It measures 5 3/8" x 8 1/2".
Condition: Excellent. It is machine-folded as issued and has pinholes in each corner as well as at the top and bottom center. There is a name and address written in pen, along with a postage stamp. This piece is a must-have for any complete Family Dog handbill collection.
