AUCTION - Sly & Family Stone - New Year's Eve - 1966-67 Handbill - Winchester Cathedral - Near Mint Minus

This ultra-hip, super rare handbill is for a New Year's Eve party held at Winchester Cathedral, a club in Redwood City, CA. Billed as a "New Year's Eve Freakout", this was 1966 going into 1967, with Sly and the Family Stone playing, along with Blue House Basement. "Come As You Really Are", we are told, along with the club calling itself a "Nightclub for Everyone". The implication here is that all races are truly welcome at Winchester Cathedral. This is utterly in keeping with Sly and the Family Stone's crossover identity and appeal. This very early, very rare Sly and the Family Stone handbill measures 4 1/4" x 11", approximately. It is fabulous, Near Mint Minus condition, with only a small bit of handling. This is only the second one we have seen in 31 years.
