AUCTION - Early Fillmore - 1966 Pre Tribal Stomp - All Dance Handbill - Condition - Good

This is a rare handbill for the ALL DANCE  'Dance-Concert' at the Fillmore Auditorium that was held on Friday, February 18, 1966. This is one of the earliest shows at the Fillmore. How early do you ask? Well, the Family Dog's first show in the numbered series, The Tribal Stomp, did not occur until the next night, Saturday, February 19th!
The acts included the Sopwith Camel ("Hello, hello), the Quicksilver Messenger Service, and the Charlatans.  A pretty darned good bill for so early!  The "King Kong Light Machine" was also featured.
Early trippy art by Jacob.  We have always liked the wavy god's eye as it contrasts with the hand-drawn lettering.  There is some innocent elegance to this layout, to us anyway. This handbill is in good condition.  It does have some handling, tack holes, and what seems to be some paper separation on the lower right and upper left border. It measures 8 1/2" x 11".  Overall, a very attractive and presentable copy of this rare piece.
