Offered for auction here we have a poster for Fluxfest, a one-night-only extravaganza held at Longshoremen's Hall in San Francisco, CA. The show date was March 31, 1967. SF Mime Troupe, Flux Orchestra, Quicksilver Messenger Service, a light show, films, plus "A Strange Evening of Experimental Events". The fabulous artwork is by Ida Griffin, widow of Rick Griffin, and formidable talent in her right. This poster is historically important as well, representing a meeting of the Fluxus art movement in the 1960s hippie counterculture. The piece measures 13 1/2" x 18 1/4", approximately. Additionally, misprinted on the reverse, is the yellow color from this poster, upside down. Not visible from the front. Condition is excellent, with two small tape stains in the upper corners. In the lower-left corner is a single pinhole, along with light handling. Fantastic example nonetheless.
