AUCTION - Psychedelic - Desert Blossom - 1960's Head Shop Poster - Excellent

Here's an unusual poster up for auction. Done circa 1970 by artist Bunnell in vivid silkscreen. The piece has a Day-Glo style that was becoming increasingly popular at that time in the mainstream of American pop culture. Commonly referred to as head shop posters, this one is titled "Desert Blossom" and features a truly psychedelic Joshua tree landscape. The female figure with Joshua tree arms and trippy patterns on her body is a real focal point in a very eye-popping piece. The printer is unknown and the piece is possibly self-produced. Moreover, this poster likely had a dramatically smaller print run than typical head shop posters from established printers. We've only ever seen this one, which measures 23 1/8" x 34 3/4", approximately. The condition is Excellent. The piece comes rolled and has pinholes, edge wear, and handling. The colors remain strong, vibrant, and bright. Very bright! A great example of a psychedelic head shop poster for your black light room.
