AUCTION - Tim Buckley 1967 Concert Poster - Grande Ballroom - Good

AUCTION - Tim Buckley 1967 Concert Poster - Grande Ballroom - Good

AUCTION - Tim Buckley 1967 Concert Poster - Grande Ballroom - Good

Here's a Detroit rarity for you Russ Gibb collectors out there. We have here Tim Buckley for two nights at the Grande Ballroom, in Detroit, Michigan. Show dates were July 21-22, 1967. Ourselves were the opener the first night, while cult girl band legends, The Shaggs opened the second night. The artwork is by Donnie dope, who did a few handbills and other smaller pieces for Russ Gibb. This is one of the few bigger pieces he did and it was only printed once, with no handbills or postcards are known to exist. Listed in the Eric King Guide as G/G - 670721 - OP - 1. The poster measures 10 41/64" X 16 21/32", approximately. The very psychedelic design has a red, yellow, and orange color scheme that is just overflowing with brightness. Particularly enjoy the bemused face in the middle. Only one printing, with no cards or handbills, makes for a very scarce poster, indeed. The piece has seen a lot of miles and is still in good condition, with handling, folds, edge wear, edge tears, and a bottom right corner tip is missing. That said, this poster is really quite rare and may not come around again anytime soon.
