AUCTION - Frank Zappa - Mothers of Invention - 1969 Poster - Stratford CT - Very Good
AUCTION - Frank Zappa - Mothers of Invention - 1969 Poster - Stratford CT - Very Good
Here we have an original concert poster featuring Frank Zappa up for auction. The show took place on February 16th, 1969 at The Ballroom in Stratford, Connecticut. The black and white poster showcases a great photo of Frank wearing suspenders and the famous "Pipco" shirt from the Lumpy Gravy album cover. The shirt was sponsored by the Plastic Irrigation Products Company, known for sponsoring a Little League baseball team. The design of the poster is interesting, with the ticket outlet information placed above the photo rather than at the bottom. The opening act was named Lucifer Cobalt. This Frank Zappa original concert poster measures 11" X 21 7/8" and is in very good condition, with folds at the bottom due to rough rolling, but it now lays flat. The piece is printed on thin stock and was never put up.
