Offered for auction is a seminal poster from Austin, Texas. Here we have the grand opening poster for the august and legendary venue, the Armadillo World Headquarters. Opening on August 7th and 8th, 1970 the venue booked all local Texas bands, like Shiva's Headband and the Hub City Movers. Nobody, but nobody, draws armadillos like Jim Franklin. Not as well, or as diverse, funny, and relentless. This piece is a Franklin armadillo masterpiece. Armadillos covering the world, armadillos holding up the world. Fantastic! This grand opening poster measures 11 5/16" x 17". The piece is in Excellent condition, with slight corner bands in all corners, tape stains on reverse, along with some handling. Rare and important Texas poster.
