AUCTION - AOR 3.11 - Big Brother Janis Joplin - 1968 HANDBILL - Cal Poly - Mint

Here we have a rare handbill from 1968. The venue was the Men's Gym at Cal-Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. The University hosted Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin. The show date was May 10, 1968, and the artist is Don Kay. This handbill is almost identical to one found in the Art of Rock book on page 259, plate 3.11. The only difference is that this one is for a show in San Luis Obispo, while the other is for a show about a week later up at UC Davis, CA. This version is more scarce than The Davis one and it measures 5" x 30 x 7 13/16", approximately. Very trippy artwork with a great Mr. Sun smiling over everything and the double Janis Joplin face. The piece is in Mint condition.
