AUCTION - AOR 2.53 - BG-29 - Jefferson Airplane - 1966 Promo Button - Near Mint

Offered for auction here is a super cool, very scarce promotional button made by Bill Graham Presents. The button was made for a "Blues Rock Bash II", held at the Fillmore Auditorium, as well as at Winterland down the street. The button corresponds to BG-29 in the Bill Graham series of posters. The Butterfield Blues Band, Jefferson Airplane, and Blues legend, Muddy Waters made for a top-notch lineup. So much so, the gig spanned two weekends, from September 25 to October 2, 1966. The artwork Is by John H. Myers, who did BG-27 a scant few weeks earlier. An unusual feature of the button is the fact that it provides a phone number, in case you have any "Questions?". This early and rare button measures 3" in diameter. It is in amazing Near Mint condition. The button is featured in the Art of Rock book on Page 147, Plate 2.53.
