Original 2-sided handbill for the event known as the Trips Festival. For 3 days a festival was held at Longshoremen's Hall and most attendees were dosed on LSD. Of course, on January 21-23,1966 LSD was still legal for a few more months. Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters with Neal Cassady were there as well as the Grateful Dead and many others. The Fillmore and Avalon Ballrooms opened soon after and the rest is history. A must-have for any serious collection. Item pictured in the Art of Rock book on page 116 plate 2.42. Design by Wes Wilson. Measures 6 1/2 X 8 1/2 and is in good condition with toning, folded in thirds, handling, and tack holes, and a tear in the top center. A real gem.
