AUCTION - AOR 2.135 - Jefferson Airplane - Harmon Gym Berkeley - 1965 Poster - Excellent
Rare, early, original concert poster for Jefferson Airplane. Here they are performing in the Harmon Gym on the U.C. Berkeley campus. The date was October 30, 1965. Interestingly, the photograph still shows the first singer, Signe Anderson. Actually Grace Slick had become the lead singer about two weeks earlier. This was Jack Casady's first show with the Airplane- original bass player Bob Harvey is still pictured second from left. The photo was surely received by the promoter/artist before the line-up change. Pictured in the Art of Rock book on page 172 and plate 2.135. Measures 11" X 14". Condition- Excellent- Has pinholes in all four corners and a single one at the bottom center. Tape stains on reverse, and also some handling. A fantastic example of a scarce, early poster.
