AUCTION - AOR 2.342 - Janis Joplin Big Brother - Continental Ballroom - 1967 Concert Poster - Near Mint Minus
An original first-printing San Francisco Bay Area concert poster advertising Janis Joplin and Big Brother and The Holding Company along with the Charles Lloyd Quartet playing in Santa Clara, CA on Friday and Saturday nights, August 11 & 12, 1967. In addition, the Morning Glory opened up on Friday and Mt. Rushmore was the support band on Saturday.The colors and design are sunny and vibrant. It's pictured in The Art of Rock on page 233, plate. 2.342.
The original poster was printed by the Bindweed Press on white vellum and measures 13 3/4" x 19" and grades to Near Mint Minus condition, with some white surface blemishing in the upper left corner area on "ROOM," "Fri.", the tip of the blue leaf. It also has a slight curl.
