AUCTION - Berkeley Barb - Vol.4 #24 1967 - Underground Newspaper - Excellent

Offered here is volume 4, number 24, issue 96, for the week of June 16-22, 1967, of the Berkeley Barb. The Barb is so exemplary of Berkeley, CA. In the '60s. Counterculture in full effect. Politics, cosmology, religion, drugs, entertainment, and on and on. Erudite, hip, and chock-full of goodies. Intense cover art by John Thompson, who did poster work up on both sides of the San Francisco Bay. Perhaps the coolest thing in this issue of the Barb is the "Scenedrome" on the back cover. Here we find out, day by day, just how much cool stuff there was to do in 1967!  Monterey Pop Festival is listed here, for instance. This underground newspaper measures 11 1/2" X 17 1/2" and is in excellent condition, with some toning, notably at the edge of the horizontal fold. The mailing address label was almost completely removed, but a narrow vertical strip remains at the upper right.
