AUCTION - Grateful Dead - Michael Priest - Manor Downs Texas - 1977 Poster - Excellent

Offered for auction here is an original concert poster for the Grateful Dead. On October 12, 1977. They played at the one and only Manor Downs racetrack, just outside Austin, Texas. This is the first of no less than five times the band played at the Downs, making it a bit of a favorite of the Dead at the time. The artwork is by Texas artist, Michael Priest, and it features ample Grateful Dead iconography, but with a pronounced Texas twist. Hence the cowboy hat over the Cyclops skull and the yellow roses. Elegant and cool, the poster is printed on coated stock and measures 11 1/2" x 17 7/16". This original Grateful Dead concert poster is in excellent condition. The piece was rolled and has horizontal bends and handling throughout, and now lays flat. Never put up and very presentable.
