Offered for auction is a very early, very scarce poster from Detroit, Michigan. The promoter was Russ Gibb, also known as Uncle Russ’ Travel Agency. The venue was the venerable Grande Ballroom. The show dates were from December 22-31, 1967. The MC5 headlined each night, with a variety of openers. This is a really early piece by Detroit artist Gary Grimshaw, who went to do prolific work in the Detroit area and California. A real titan. The cool line at the bottom “you must be 17 and PROVE it.“ This early Gary Grimshaw poster measures 15“ X 22 1/2“. The condition is Excellent, with toning at the top and bottom (mainly at the top), pinholes in each corner, edge wear, and a small tear at the bottom center.
