AUCTION - AOR 2.243 - ORIGINAL POSTER ART - Haight Ashbury Festival - Wes Wilson - 1969 Ink on Poster Board - Golden Gate Park - Excellent

As the 1960s came to a close, there was one last grand celebration of Haight-Ashbury in Golden Gate Park over the weekend of May 25-26, 1969. Local musicians and bands performed throughout the weekend, with Country Joe and the Fish headlining on both days. The event featured art, crafts, delicious food, and unforgettable moments in the sunshine!

Wes Wilson's art beautifully captures this historic moment, showcasing a central figure who embodies the good vibes of the festival. If you have ever enjoyed a magical day in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, you will likely agree that this piece reflects that feeling perfectly. This artwork is a significant piece of history and one of Wilson's lesser-known posters, which we believe stands alongside his more famous works for the Fillmore and Avalon. The piece is printed on poster board and measures 18" x 20." As shown in the photos, it is in excellent condition.
